Hundreds of customers. 7 people team.

The agent answers first. Here's who we put behind it.

Hundreds of customers. 7 people team.

I'm Jeremy Hurst, VP of Autonomous GTM at Swan. I left a $450K VP Sales role to take a job with a made-up title. I did it because I got a glimpse of the 100x seller - it stopped being a thought experiment and became the actual playbook. This is a field journal for GTM and growth leaders who can feel the model changing under their feet and prefer changing with it to being left behind.

A client asked me last night how many customers we have. Then asked how many employees. Hundreds. And 7.

I think I broke his brain.

He couldn't wrap his head around it. How do you run CS for hundreds of organizations with a team you could fit at one dinner table.

One part of the answer: Swan is our customer service agent.

Many think Swan's focus is deploying agents for signal-based outbound. That couldn't be farther from the truth.

The reality is customers deploy agents on Swan for outbound, inbound, deal room creation, upsell/expansion, call preps & follow ups, CRM automation, customer support, & a lot more.

Our agent lives inside every Swan account and in every customer Slack channel, answering questions before they ever make it to us.

But that's just A part of the answer, not the important part.

Because even the best AI customer service agent doesn't get you to hundreds of accounts alone. What gets you there is the people that stand behind it.

We partner with organizations like AK Operations for exactly this reason - as a forward deploy motion wherein partner teams implement Swan shoulder to shoulder with us, then stay on afterwards as the ongoing service layer.

Customer has a question, wants a new use case, wants to push further - the partner's in the room. Our swarm operates behind them.

PLG gets you the small stuff. Self serve is real & it works. But the accounts that need actual transformation don't scale on self serve. They scale on trust, & trust doesn't come from AI agents.

They say, if you want to go fast, go alone. But going far, that means going together.

THE SIGNAL

I spend my days handing work to agents, and the thing that got us to hundreds of customers with 7 people was deciding which moments still need someone the customer trusts, so that's where we put our people.

THE PLAY:

Staff the trust layer

  • Divide your accounts by the number of people who talk to customers. We're at hundreds with 7. Then count how many of those accounts would stay if their person disappeared.
  • Before you hire to fix that number, look for a partner who already sets up tools like yours.
  • Choose a partner who stays after setup. The team that set up an account knows it best, so they should be the ones the customer calls afterwards.
  • Put the agent behind the partner so routine questions never reach them, and their time goes to the moments from your person pile.

SIT WITH THIS

Which of your customers would leave if their person disappeared tomorrow? No agent keeps those accounts for you.

Go fast with agents, go far with people.
